Our Specialty

We don’t buy panels. We make them — starting from the SPF board.

Most cooler companies assemble rooms from panels they purchase. 51 Cooler manufactures the SPF foam board itself, builds its own panels, and installs the finished cold room. That is our specialty — and your advantage.

Step 01 — The Board

We manufacture the SPF board ourselves

Every 51 Cooler panel starts as an SPF board made under our own roof. Our owner is a certified manufacturer of SPF (spray polyurethane foam) board — the rigid, closed-cell foam board that forms the insulating core of a cold room panel. Because the board is ours, its density, thickness and quality are set by us, not by a supplier's catalogue.

  • Certified SPF board manufacturer — the core is made in-house
  • Rigid closed-cell polyurethane foam, consistent from board to board
  • Thicknesses made for the job — cooler duty to deep-freeze duty
  • No middleman, no supplier lead time standing between you and your build

Step 02 — The Material

Why the board decides how cold stays cold

A cold room is only as good as its insulation core. Rigid polyurethane foam is a closed-cell material: millions of sealed cells that block heat, air and moisture at once. It insulates at roughly 0.021–0.024 W/(m·K) — about a third better than polystyrene board of the same thickness — so panels can be thinner for the same cold, and your refrigeration works less to hold temperature.

  • Closed-cell structure — insulation and moisture barrier in one
  • Among the lowest thermal conductivity of any insulation material
  • Does not absorb water, so insulation performance does not fade
  • Strong, rigid core that carries the panel for decades of service

Step 03 — The Panel

From our board to a finished cooler panel

We laminate steel skins onto our own SPF board and finish each panel with cam-lock edges, so panels pull together tight and seal true on site. Odd size? Door in a different place? Because we make the panel ourselves, the room is built around your space and your workflow — not trimmed down from whatever sizes a panel supplier happens to stock.

  • Panels built to your exact dimensions — custom is our standard
  • Cam-lock joints for a tight, energy-saving seal
  • Skins and finishes chosen for food-safe, wash-down duty
  • Replacement and expansion panels made to match — even years later

Step 04 — The Room

One maker, from raw board to working cooler

Board, panel, installation, service — the chain never leaves our hands. That means one team answers for the whole cooler: how it was foamed, how it was sealed, and how it performs on your busiest Saturday night. It is the advantage no reseller can offer, and it is why we can stand behind every room we build.

  • Faster builds — we never wait on a panel supplier's schedule
  • Honest pricing — you are not paying a markup on someone else's panel
  • The manufacturer installs and services your cooler — us
  • Built in Scarborough, installed across the GTA and beyond
